Interested in hearing from bold leaders designing new, innovative, mastery-based high schools? Check out our session at iNACOL’s 2014 Blended and Online Learning Symposium in Palm Springs next week!
The session, “Reflections on Designing New Competency-Based High Schools,” will take place on Thursday, November 6 at 2pm Pacific in Hilton Plaza-C.
The session will introduce four school and district leaders who designed new, mastery-based high schools that launched this year. Leaders will discuss the practicalities of designing new mastery-based schools, share the hard-won lessons learned through school design and launch, and respond to questions about the getting-down-to-brass-tacks aspects of new school launch: How do students respond to a mastery-based approach? What tech tools were most helpful to you through school design and launch? How does a mastery-based model require a different kind of school leader? How do you recruit, develop, and retain teachers in a mastery-based school?
The session will include time for Q&A. The full agenda for iNACOL’s symposium is available here: http://www.inacol.org/symposium-2014/agenda/, and we hope to see you on Thursday at 2pm!
