In the episode, Christy discusses how her former school, The Young Women’s Leadership School of Astoria (TYWLS), designs and deploys innovative practices as a way to instill a learner-centered approach to teaching and learning. Christy helped design and implement many of the school’s systems and structures over her years there, including a two-week long “intensives” program where students engage in passion projects as a means of discovering and deepening their authentic interests.
