Kiara Martinez is currently a Dean of Curriculum and Instruction at Excel Academy Charter High school in East Boston.  Prior to her current role, she was a high school chemistry teacher. Though she has been a member of the Excel staff for 5 years, her relationship with the school officially  began in 2007 where she was a part of the inaugural class.  Sha now has the pleasure of working alongside her former teachers and counts her cousins and some of her current students.   Next year, her 6th family member will join the ranks of Excel graduates.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics from the University of Rochester and a Masters in Education from Boston University. When not working with her students and family community, she frequents the crossfit gym in East Boston owned by a local family.
