Sam is currently the Instructional Math Coach at Dearborn STEM Academy. Prior to being an instructional coach, Sam spent four years as a middle school math teacher (6th grade) at Davis Leadership Academy and four years as a high school math teacher (10th grade) at Dearborn STEM Academy. In addition to being a teacher, Sam also served as a grade level team leader, math department lead, and mentor teacher for teaching residents.
As a lifelong Bostonian, Sam remains committed to investing and giving back to the community that he grew up in. He not only works within Boston Public Schools but he also attended Boston Public Schools as a student.He graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Teaching.
In his current role as an instructional math coach, Sam spends a lot of his time working with teachers thinking about ways to make math education accessible and engaging for students.
When Sam is not thinking about work, he can be found reading sci-fi/fantasy novels, doing the crossword, playing video/board games, and spending time with his dog (Ajax!).
